Beautiful new book by local author Julie Bennett & artist Tom O'Hara

A magical kingdom of adventure waits at the library for Rex, a bored dinosaur who becomes enchanted and intrigued by the world of books. Rex, or "Tiny" as his friends lovingly call him, is the character of a new children's book, Rex Reads, to be released in early spring. Mt. Shasta residents, Tom O'Hara and Julie Bennett shared with us their inspiration and experience of co-creating Rex Reads. Julie is a veteran teacher at Mt. Shasta Elementary and Tom is a master artist with a fluency in portraiture, landscape and graphic design. Tom is responsible for a considerable body of work, which he refers to as his "public art" in the Mount Shasta area. Murals displayed on Berryvale, the Dunsmuir Hardware store and even the beautiful S.T.A.G.E. logo have become a part of the Mt. Shasta city landscape over the years.
