Deva says that the main intention of the sacred songs, the mantra and the concert is to bring listeners into a deeper state of consciousness, eventually taking them into the stillness within themselves.
“Singing has a strong healing power,” she says. “Deep breathing charges our cells with the vibration of the sound. With Sanskrit words, mantra singing becomes a powerful spiritual tool, an effortless way to enter meditation.”
It was a visit to Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan’s Oneness University in India last year that inspired Deva and Miten to record the Moola Mantra — a mantra cherished by the community in their practice of “deeksha,” a transmission of spiritual energy. In the end, the Moola Mantra’s theme is one of universal oneness and harmony between the male and female aspects.
