This book contains a collection of Wintu legends, as told to the author by Grant Towendolly, the son of a former headman of the Wintu Indians. Grant was trained by his father for leadership, a preparation which included learning the myths and legends of his people and being entrusted with the preservation of the authentic Wintu stories.
